Introduction
The impacts of immigration in general, and of Amnesty programs specifically, continue to fuel much debate. Fortunately, they have also been the subject of much research that seeks to meaure and analyze these impacts in a concrete way. As such, the debate over immigration can be grounded in fact as much as in principle.
This page aims to serve as a starting point for those looking for a firm grounding in the latest scholarly research on immigration and Amnesty programs. The Center is currently seeking permission to publish on this site copies of recent papers on the subject. In the meantime, you can link to a variety of information resources from this page, as well as access bibliographies of recent research.

- Pew Hispanic Center, Immigration Reports
- A non-partisan research organization supported by The Pew Charitable Trusts. Its mission is to improve understanding of the U.S. Hispanic population and to chronicle Latinos’ growing impact on the entire nation.
- Center for Comparative Immigration Studies (CCIS)
- Located at the University of California in San Diego, the CCIS hosts numerous seminars and posts research on a number of topics including Latin American migration to the United States.
- Migration Policy Institute (MPI)
- The MPI is nonprofit organization undertaking policy research on all aspects of U.S. and international migration. Its website has research reports, and the Migration Information Source with statistics on international mobility.
- Institute for the Study of International Migration (ISIM)
- Located at Georgetown University, ISIM undertakes research on all aspects of U.S. and international migration. Its website includes Institute research reports.
